MS Therapy Centre Gibraltar History

The Centre was first established around July 2006 when James Pratts who suffers from RSD/CRPS  had to attend regular sessions in the UK, This meant leaving is 2 boys and wife behind for long periods of time whilst he received treatment in the UK

In July 2006 James wanted to get this burden of his back so after much thought and thousands of pounds later James decided to purchase the hyperbaric chambers at his personal expense. The Chambers came from The MS Therapy Centre in Manchester were they had 4,(Trafford park) where footballers from around the area of Manchester made good use of it.
 

In early July 2006 James was given a location where he was able to fit these chambers.. Now April 2008 the project has come to a completion and ready to use.

The premises had to be completely gutted and rebuilt from the ground up with help from local firms and very kind generous donations.

After a lot of dedication and over 2 year of man hours the project is now complete. The location that was given to James was in appalling conditions (Please see Our Premises for before and after Photos). James felt that even though he would benefit from having these chambers close by to him and not having to leave his family other MS suffers in Gibraltar or anybody with a condition that High Dose Oxygen therapy can treat will be able to use these chambers.

As explained by James the main reason of the centre was not only to help stabilise his condition but to help as many people as possible and improve their quality of life. The UK centres treat many conditions, one of the most popular are sports injuries.

The centre was inaugurated on the 24th January 2008 by the  deputy Chief Minister Mr Joe Holliday
